About us

Our Difference - We focus on results, not time!

O’Reilly Law was born out of an entrepreneurial desire to offer a more human legal services experience. We wish to make commercial law services more accessibly and ultimately, be a legal champion to the vibrant and inspiring community of South African SME’s, Entrepreneurs and Growth Companies.

FOCUS ON RESULTS, NOT TIME.

Cost certainty and transparency is what we are all about. We steer away from the traditional billable hour and offer our clients a range of pricing options to suit their needs, always providing complete clarity on legal costs. We are an OUTCOME-BASED law firm and the result is as important to us in determining our fee as it is to you. Where possible, we stay within a fixed fee per project model. We are, however, always open to designing a payment model that works for both parties.

TECH-DRIVEN.

We strive to always be on the forefront of legal technology and innovation. We recognize the need for business lawyers to be as tech-savvy as their clients and will constantly research, adopt and add new legal tech developments that increase our productivity and efficiency,  ensuring the benefit is transferred to you.

COMMITMENT TO YOU.

We’re committed to helping you create value and to build businesses that have the potential to change the world.

Jack O’Reilly, Director

Our founding director, Jack O’Reilly (LLB UFS), has over 8 years’ post-qualification experience that allows him to offer his clients the necessary legal advice, guidance and tools they need to build successful businesses. He gained this valuable experience while working at reputable law firms with a focus on commercial litigation and corporate and commercial transactional work.

Jack began his legal career at Symington and De Kok Attorneys in 2010 (a mid-large full-service law firm), where he practiced as a litigation attorney. He went on to refine his corporate finance and commercial law skills when, in January 2017, he joined a prestigious, boutique corporate finance and commercial law firm in Cape Town

Inspired by the change-makers he has worked with over the years, Jack dared to take his own entrepreneurial leap, founding O’Reilly Law on 1 September 2018.

He is extremely passionate when it comes to all things commercial law and loves working with the visionaries of the world. He advises SMEs, Entrepreneurs and Growth Companies that want to change the lives of the people in their communities, make a meaningful impact in South Africa, and dare to think globally.

Jack handles everything from business formation, intellectual property protection, employee incentivisation to acquisitions and disposals, as well as all stages of business funding and restructuring. With his commercial litigation background, he thrives when presented with the opportunity to help clients resolve commercial disputes, and finding pragmatic and cost-effective solutions to complex business challenges.

When not at the office, he enjoys reading non-fiction, spending time with his wife and their two miniature schnauzers, and exploring the Cape Winelands with friends and family.
